Fran Sankey and Angelo Konstantinou have been re-elected as Chair and Deputy Chair of the Capital Football Board on Wednesday night (27 May).

Mr Konstantinou, who was re-appointed to the Board last week at the 2020 Annual General Meeting, will serve as Deputy Chair alongside Ms Sankey who will return as Chair of the Capital Football Board.

Ms Sankey, who is just the second female chair of Capital Football, has been a Director on the Capital Football Board since 2013 and is a member of the inaugural FFA Women’s Football Council.

Ms Sankey said it was a great honour to be re-elected as Chair of the Capital Football Board.

“It is a privilege to continue as Chair of Capital Football and I thank my fellow Directors for their confidence in me and their support,” she said. “I look forward to working with everyone in the football family to provide high-quality experiences for everyone in football in all its forms.

“I congratulate Angelo Konstantinou for his re-election to the Board and as Deputy Chair and I also want to congratulate and welcome Justin Webb as a Director, whose financial acumen and passion for football will be invaluable to the Board.”

Ms Sankey said she is now focused on guiding Capital Football through the challenges of COVID-19.

“During these testing times, having continuity and stability on the Board allows us to focus on returning to football and supporting our football community,” Ms Sankey said.

“Together, working with our members and clubs, we will navigate our way through these current challenging times and shape our future to ensure football continues to be the sport of choice.”
