Angelo Konstantinou and Justin Webb have been elected to the Capital Football Board at the 2020 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday night (20 May).
Four candidates were nominated for the two vacancies on the Capital Football Board, as Angelo Konstantinou and Garth Morrison’s three-year terms drew to an end.
Mr Konstantinou was re-elected to the Board having served the past year as Deputy Chair and he will be joined by new Director Justin Webb.
Justin Webb, who works in corporate finance for Whitehelm Capital, grew up playing football in Canberra with his six brothers and has played NPL for both Weston and ANU.
Mr Webb said he was excited to join the Capital Football Board.
“Football has always been a huge part of my life and I have worked with high-functioning boards as part of my job so I wanted to meld those two passions together,” Mr Webb said.
“I don’t come with any bias or agenda. I know the game here in Canberra and I love the game, so I am looking forward to bringing that independence to the Capital Football Board.”
Mr Konstantinou, who has lived and breathed football for the past two decades, thanked the football community for re-electing him to the Capital Football Board.
“Thank you to all the Members and the Football Community for once again trusting me to represent them,” Mr Konstantinou said.
“I am excited about what the next few years will bring to Capital Football and also getting our players and officials back and playing during these very testing times.
“I would also like to congratulate Justin Webb on joining the Capital Football Board. I think he will be a very valuable asset to the Board.”
The Chair and Deputy Chair of the Capital Football Board will be elected later this month.
