Become a Futsal Referee


Capital Football is responsible for the training and education of Referees who choose to referee any sanctioned senior or junior futsal competitions, including North Canberra Futsal and South Canberra Futsal competitions.

If you are 13 years of age or older, follow these simple steps and you will be on you way to becoming a Futsal Referee:

  1. Register for a Futsal Level 3 Referee course and a training session
  2. Complete the Online Futsal Laws of the Game course
  3. Order your Referee Kit
  4. Attend the Course and Training Session
  5. Register with Capital Football Referees via PlayFootball

Level 3 Futsal Referee Course

This course certifies anyone aged 13 or older to referee sanctioned futsal matches. Becoming a futsal referee is a great way to become involved or stay involved in community futsal, during the summer and winter, as well as:

  • develop leadership skills;
  • improve self-confidence;
  • develop communication skills; and
  • start earning $16 per match.

The course costs $110.00 for new referees, $55.00 for Capital Football registered Football referees. Referees eligible for the discounted course fee will receive a refund of $55 after paying the full course fee of $110.00.

The course will be delivered online via Zoom over 3 sessions. After the course you must attend one of the scheduled Futsal Level 3 Referee training sessions:

  • Training Session #1 – Sunday 11 October 2020, 11am to 1pm @ Radford College Bruce; OR
  • Training Session #2 –  Sunday 11 October 2020, 1.30pm to 3.30pm @ Radford College
