Capital Football’s High Performance Programs cater for talented football players from the Australian Capital Territory and the surrounding regions as part of the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Talented Player Pathway.

Developed in line with the FFA National Curriculum, Capital Football offers a number of programs for both male and female players from Under 9 to 17 throughout the course of the year.

Capital Football’s High Performance Programs are divided into four separate programs:

  1. Skill Development Program (SDP). The SDP is a user pay program for players seeking to further develop their individual playing skills while also learning the 1-4-3-3 playing structure in preparation for possible selection into SAP, CUA teams or State Team squads.
  2. Skill Acquisition Program (SAP),
  3. Canberra United Academy Program (Game Training),
  4. ACT State Team Programs (NYC and NTC).

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY REVIEW

Capital Football recently engaged the football community in a review of the development programs offered to the ACT’s young players following three years of the Canberra United Academy’s supplementation of development opportunities provided by clubs and underpinning of the talent identification process for State Team selection.

The review focused on youth development, with programs considered from U/9 through to U/17 age grades.
