CHARITY SHIELD

Capital Football holds an annual Women’s and Men’s Charity Shield match, ahead of the start of each season.

Participants each year are determined as follows:

  • League Champions in the season prior (NPL Women’s 1st Grade and NPL1 Men’s 1st Grade)
  • Federation Cup Winners

Note: Should the same Club be the winners of both, then the participants are as follows:

  • League Champions in the season prior (NPL Women’s 1st Grade and NPL1 Men’s 1st Grade)
  • Federation Cup Runners Up

2021 Charity Shield

The 2021 Charity Shield will be held on Saturday 27th March 2021 (pending COVID-19 restrictions) at Deakin Stadium, with the men’s game kicking off at 4pm and the women’s game kicking off at 6:30pm.

As there was no Federation Cup Winners for the 2020 season, the following will be used to determine participants for the 2021 edition:

Women’s – Grand Final Rematch (Canberra Croatia FC v Belconnen United FC)

Men’s – NPL1 Men’s Champions v NPL2 Men’s Champions (Canberra Croatia FC v Wagga City Wanderers FC)
