NC Untouchables Red 0 def. by Gungahlin United Pink 8 (Ashleigh Palombi 6′, 7′, 23′, 34′, Ilahna Aitchison 13′, Najwa Allen 25′, Grace Field 33′, 34′)
A four goal haul from Ashleigh Palombi helped Gungahlin United Pink to a big win over Untouchables Red in Round 11. Palombi opened the scoring after just six minutes and had a brace after seven, laying the foundations for a big result. Ilahna Aitchison’s goal after 13 minutes secured a 3-0 half time lead, before another two from Palombi inside five minutes of the second half and a goal from Najwa Allen pushed the margin right out. Grace Field still found the time to score a brace in the closing 10 minutes and lock up the final scoreline.
CUA 17’s Green 1 (Alexia Forner 14′) def. by NC Untouchables Navy 3 (Freyja Jacobsen 11′, 16′, Katherine Thurber 26′)
A solid performance from Untouchables Navy saw them pick up maximum points with a 3-1 win over the Green Academy side. After an even opening 10 minutes Freyja Jacobsen scored for Untouchables, only to see it cancelled out three minutes later by Alexia Forner’s strike. They continue to push forward though and found a way to break the deadlock four minutes before the break when Jacobsen again finished off a good move.
Both sides came out of the half looking to add to their tally, and it was the more experienced Untouchables side who again struck next to put themselves out of reach. Katherine Thurber’s goal just before the half-hour mark sealed the deal and extended the lead to the final score of 3-1.
Belconnen United Blue Devils 5 (Sian Minary-Bland 18′, 26′, Samantha Price 18′, 39′, Maja Blasch 18′) def. Boomerangs FS 2 (Jacqueline Alferink 19′, Ashlyn Garrity 32′)
Three goals in a matter of minutes to close the first half ensured that Belconnen United claimed an important 5-2 win over Boomerangs in Round 11.
Sian Minary-Bland, Samantha Price and Maja Blasch all scored within moments of each other just before half time to race out to a three-goal lead, with Jacqueline Alferink nabbing one back for Boomerangs for a 3-1 half time score. Minary-Bland completed her brace six minutes into the second half only for Boomerangs to again respond through Ashlyn Garrity a few minutes later to ensure an exciting final 10 minutes. But Price iced the win in the second last minute of regulation to grab maximum points.
