Some of Capital Football’s most talented teenagers have had the opportunity to test themselves against the best when the under 14s and 15 Talent Support Program (TSP) headed to Sydney this week.
Football New South Wales (NSW) hosted the tournaments at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney, with the U15 TSP Tournament running on Tuesday 13th April, and the U14’s on Wednesday 14th April.
Teams were grouped in teams of four, playing each other once before going into Round Two.
Each game played was 25 minutes in duration (no half-time), with only one substitution opportunity per team per game.
Win = 3 points / Draw = 1 point / Loss = 0 points
Score 3+ goals in match = 1 point
Clean sheet = 1 point.
Capital Football Technical Director, Scott O’Donell said it was a great test for the Canberra players.
“This tournament is a great opportunity for our boys to compete against some of the best players in NSW, in front of Football Australia staff,” O’Donell said.
“It is also an excellent opportunity for me to see how our players cope playing these types of games as this is the sort of competition that we will be up against at the National Youth Championships in September later this year at Coffs Harbour.
“I would like to thank FNSW for hosting this tournament.”
