IN A NUTSHELL
Gungahlin United, led by the irrepressible Lukman Ahmed-Shaibu, sent a warning to the rest of the NPL with a superb 4-2 away win over Canberra Croatia at Deakin Stadium. Ahmed-Shaibu now has seven goals in only two matches this season. Speaking of seven, that’s what Canberra Olympic scored as seven different individuals bagged goals in a 7-2 rout of Yoogali at O’Connor Enclosed. Tigers FC bounced back from Australia Cup Qualifying elimination by downing Tuggeranong United, yet to score this term, 3-0 whilst the League Champions O’Connor Knights, remember them?, got off and running as Aisosa Ihegie scored twice in a 2-1 win at Monaro Panthers.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
Daniel Olaoye announced his arrival in Canberra with a stunning solo goal as Gungahlin United secured a statement win over Canberra Croatia, the English winger sealing a memorable debut with a goal of sheer quality. Collecting a pass midway inside the Croatia half, Olaoye slalomed past a swathe of challenges to score a magnificent goal.

The performance of the week goes to the entire Gungahlin United squad. Javier Roca and his team stormed Deakin Stadium with a display of controlled aggression, slick, incisive attacking, and some quite brilliant goals.
