Once more the playing fields of Canberra and the surrounding region will come alive to the sound of thousands of children enjoying the Global Game as the Capital Football Junior League commences for 2024 and it is bigger and better than ever before!
With the introduction of the new Under-13 SAP League, bringing another 237 matches to the competition, the number of divisions has increased to forty-four, meaning that the total number of children playing football in the junior league is now in excess of 12,500.
Many clubs are entering the Junior League and MiniRoos space for the first time, with Burns FC, Cooma SC, Tigers FC, and the newly formed Bungendore United entering the fray, whilst we welcome back Southern Tablelands into the Capital Football umbrella.
The Junior Leagues and MiniRoos competitions are widely spread across ACT and surrounding regions ranging from Yass, Goulburn, Cooma, and Bungendore, to Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, and Googong.
“We are excited for the start of the new Junior League season and can’t wait to see the thousands of youngsters enjoying playing football with their friends.” Capital Football CEO Samantha Farrow commented.
“Football is a fantastic way to keep fit and healthy, and make new friends at the same time, and we wish every player and club the best of luck in the 2024 season.”
Gungahlin United lead the way with the most teams entered in the Open competition with twenty-six, whilst Woden Valley are fielding eleven teams in the Junior League Girls, the most in that competition.
