After an incredible iteration in 2019, Female Football Week is back in 2020, starting on International Women’s Day!
Running from the 8th until the 15th of March, Female Football Week is an eight-day event celebrating women’s football and the impact that women have on the game.
Capital Football’s Game Development Manager Kelly Stirton said that Female Football Week provided a great chance to promote women in football through a number of different events.
“Female Football Week gives us a great opportunity to celebrate the impact that women and girls have on this sport, and help drive female participation in football,” she said.
“The aim for the 2020 Female Football Week is to encourage participation and create good environments for participants across all areas of the game, including players, coaches, volunteers and referees.
“The ACT has the highest ratio of female to male footballers nationally, so celebrating Female Football Week is very important to this region.”
