27 coaches have taken the first step towards advancing their coaching careers, after completing day one of the updated Football Australia C Licence Coaching Course.
The group began the day with an introductory presentation from Capital Football Technical Director Scott O’Donell, at the University of Canberra on Saturday February 6.
From there, it was a mix of theory and practical sessions, ranging from ‘The Role of the Coach’ and ‘Planning a Session’.
Capital Football Technical Director, Scott O’Donell said day one went off without a hitch.
“It was a positive first day, despite the wet start. It was great to see so many aspiring coaches committed to their own professional development”
The updated course is focusing on the teaching of technique and the Principles of Play, while also allowing for different methods of delivery, including online and face-to-face sessions.
Member Federation Technical Directors and Coach Education Managers met with Football Australia Technical Adviser Dr. Ron Smith earlier this month, to discuss the content and modules of the re-designed C Licence.
The C Licence Course runs for 6 weeks, with the next face-to-face session to be held at UC on Saturday February 13, 2021.
