Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football.
The objective of Female Football Week is to drive female participation at all levels of the game.
It is the ideal time for clubs to celebrate existing players and to look to recruit more players and female club volunteers for the upcoming season.
Clubs will receive FFW updates, have the activity promoted on the Capital Football website and receive FFW advertising collateral. By registering you will receive extra exposure!
Female Football Week will take place from Friday 2 May to Sunday 11 May 2025
Throughout the week Capital Football and our Clubs will be actively involved in the delivery of a wide range of events.
To celebrate Female Football Week, we invite Clubs to register your events via email to Esperance Anderson at Esperance.Anderson@capitalfootball.com.au.
By registering your come and try sessions, gala days, mentoring events, player mascots, exhibition matches, etc. Capital Football can advertise your event and support your event where possible.

This season, Canberra Croatia will have two home games during the Female Football Week celebrations (2-11 May 2025).
Over the course of the two matchdays, the funds from the club canteen will go directly back to their Women’s and Girls program.

The club will also be wearing their celebration kit in their Round Nine fixtures against ANU WFC (Women’s) and BellaMonaro FC (Girls).
West Canberra Wanderers will be holding a club wide event, with all members of their Women’s and Girls program to take part in a training session and BBQ, on Tuesday 6 May.
The Club will also be holding their ‘West Canberra Wanderers Trivia Night’ during the week, with further details TBC.

Weston Molonglo are hosting a Barbeque and a skills session/mini games for the clubs female players, volunteers and referees on Wednesday 7 May at Waramanga Playing Fields!

To celebrate Female Football Week, Belnorth FC are holding a photo competition!
Take a photo of Belnorth FC female players, coaches, managers and referees at games or training to go in the draw to win a Belnorth FC Beanie, Bottle or a Scarf. Two of each item are up for grabs.

South Canberra FC are opening their midweek club training sessions to any and all mums, sisters, daughter, friends etc. to come along and try football in a safe and supportive environment!

Tigers FC will be showcasing the talents of the U12, U14, and U16 girls teams during Female Football Week.
On Wednesday 7 May, they are hosting an evening of mentoring and dedicated training sessions led by the tigers FC Youth Technical Director.

On Saturday, 10 May, Tigers FC will celebrate the incredible women in their players’ lives during home matches at Aranda. Each player is encouraged to bring a significant female in their life – mum, grandmother, sister – to join them as a mascot and cheer them on.
