The Online Off-the-Pitch Player Education Seminar is aimed at females of all ages who are playing, coaching or refereeing, parents/guardians of female players, and coaches/referees of females and/or females who are interested in any of the below topics we will address on the night.
We will have a few guest speakers, including Sara Chica-Latorre, Georgia Ritchie and Demi Patterson to address the following topics in their respective fields. There will be time to submit your questions in the weeks leading up to Female Football Week as well as during our interactive session.
- The menstrual cycle and its effects on sporting performance/training considerations
- Nutrition
- Mindfulness/mental health
- An athlete’s perspective on juggling multiple commitments

Who:
- Sara Chica-Lattore – Sara is currently studying her PhD in Menstrual cycle symptoms and dietary strategies for Female Athletes, and will discuss the menstrual cycle, training loads and injury prevention in females.
- Demi Patterson – Demi is an Advances Sports Dietitian with an extensive background in performance nutrition. Demi has over 10 years in the high-performance sporting industry. Graduating with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours), she went on to complete her International Olympic Committee Diploma in the field of Sports Nutrition. Demi completed a fellowship at the Australian Institute of Sport where she worked with an extensive range of sports. Demi has also worked at the Aussie 7’s, Lacrosse Australia and managed a team of Dietitians at Compeat Performance. Demi is now currently the lead Dietitian at the ACT Academy of Sport.
Demi is also a credentialed eating disorder specialised clinician and believes health and performance are never one size fits all. Demi understands that whilst Performance Nutrition is a science, eating is a behaviour, so she uses behavioural based approaches to work alongside athletes to empower them to reach their performance and wellbeing goals.
