The South Canberra Swift Womens got their first ever win over North Canberra Fire with a complete performance on Sunday night at Daramalan College.
It was an end to end start as both teams battled for control in the opening stages, and it would be the Swift that took the lead in the eighth minute as Relly Yuen found the back of the net.
Ten minutes later and quick fire double from Sienna Birnie had Swift firmly in control of the match. Ginger Oliver scored right on half time to give Swift a four-goal advantage headed into the second half.
Fire came out strong in the second half, Stella de Marco reducing the deficit with a well hit strike. However, Sharon Chao found the back of the net to put the deficit back out to four goals.
Fire would score another two goals, with De Marco grabbing her second and Ella-Rose Brown getting her name on the scoresheet, but they would be merely consolation goals as Birnie completed her hattrick, with Kaitlyn Colwill also getting on the scoresheet.
In the Friday game, West Canberra Lightning kept their incredible run in the CFL going, with a 16th straight win in the competition, beating UC Stars by a whopping ten goals.
Bella Barac opened the scoring nine minutes in, turning her defender and slotting the ball home at the near post. Despite their dominance, that would be the only goal of the half.
Lightning hit the ground running in the second half as Jamie Berkeley scored her ninth of the season. It would be all West Lightning as Brittany Palombi scored not long after.
Barac scored her second of the evening, dribbling from her own half to poke the ball home past the keeper. Tatum Mazis scored to take the lead to five goals, getting on the end of a well-placed pass from Palombi.
Palombi, Berkeley and Mazis would all get a second for the evening, Dianne Wilson getting her name on the scorers list as well. Barac wrapped up the impressive win with her hattrick goal in the closing minutes.
ANU Apex got their first points of the season with a mammoth 16 goal win over QP Power, spearheaded by a five goals apiece from Emily Robertson and Alexandra Serras.
Robertson opened the scoring ten minutes in, before grabbing her second a minute later. Ana Sofia Chaverra Calle scored right after, as Apex scored three goals in two minutes.
Serras scored a hattrick in the space of two minutes right before the break. Chaverra Calle added a second at the start of the second half, followed by efforts from Isabella Hopkins and Edith Fordyce-Croker.
Robertson added a third before an own goal from Power. Serras and Roebrtson would score two more each, both ending with five, as Brianna Maguire also got her name onto the scoresheet.
