The Capital Futsal League reaches its conclusion this weekend with four Grand Finals to crown the victors in the Men’s First Grade, Women’s First Grade, Women’s Reserves and Men’s Under-23 competitions at Daramalan College.
Following up to ten rounds of hard-fought regular season action, and semi-finals that caught the imagination of the Australian Futsal community, the successful teams have ventured into the Grand Final hoping to take home the silverware.
Men’s League Champions, UC Stars, will be out to secure a double when they meet West Canberra Lightning in the last game of the day, the pair having ,et in an astonishing 7-7 draw last time they clashed and, with Lightning have won an epic Semi-Finals against South Canberra Swift, an all-time classic could be in store.
In the Women’s competition the all-conquering West Canberra Lightning will be hot favourites but acutely aware that the youthful South Canberra Swift will be a true test of their ambitions to go back-to-back.
There’s a pair of surprise finalists in the Men’s U23 Grand Final as third meets fourth in West Canberra Lightning against North Canberra Fire, whilst Fire, who finished third in the Women’s Reserves will take on West Canberra Lightning to claim glory in that competition.
Entry is free to Grand Final day at Daramalan College and there will be a 32-page official souvenir magazine to mark the occasion given out free to competing players and to attendees whilst stocks last.
