Canberra United’s All Abilities Academy and young star Hayley Taylor-Young have been named as finalists for a 2020 CBR Sport Award.
The All Abilities Academy was nominated for the Inclusion Award while Taylor-Young picked up a nomination for the Rising Star Award.
Minister for Sport Yvette Berry announced the finalists for the 2020 CBR Sport Awards for outstanding teams and individual athletes from 15 sports, ranging from orienteering and rowing through to cross country mountain biking.
“Each year, the CBR Sport Awards remind us of the high calibre of athletes and teams we have here in Canberra,” Minister Berry said.
“This has been an extremely challenging year for Canberra sport with bushfires, hailstorms, and the ongoing pandemic, but the high number of nominations received shows that the future is still bright for sport in Canberra.
“I’d like to congratulate the finalists for their remarkable achievements. I know the judging panel had a tough job and were overwhelmed by the quality of nominations.
“This year, the CBR Sport Awards will be a virtual event. I hope to see all finalists and their families and supporters at the awards online on 16 December 2020.”
