Referee Level 3


The FFA Referee Level 3 course is the final course in the community football referee program.

Level 4 Referees aged 16 who have at least 1 years refereeing experience are eligible to undertake the Referee Level 3 course.

Match Officials are expected to complete the Referee Level 3 course to referee U16 – U18 (NPLY or JL) matches; State League Men’s Division 1 matches; and NPL Women’s 1st or Reserve grade matches. Additionally, you may be considered for nomination to the Foxtel Y-League panel (Assistant Referee) and other FFA tournaments.

Course Fee

The Referee Level 3 course fee is $45.00.

Prerequisites

Potential candidates who wish to complete the course must meet the following pre-requisites before enrolling in the course.

Participants must:

  • be at least 16 years old at the commencement of the training program;
  • be currently registered with FFA; and
  • hold a current Level 4 Referee qualification.

ASSESSMENTS

To be certified with a Referee Level 3 qualification, you must:

  • attend all sessions and complete Units 1-9 to the satisfaction of your Instructor;
  • pass the multiple choice Laws of the Game exam;
  • be deemed competent in 1x match as a Referee; and
  • be deemed competent in 1x match as an Assistant Referee.

If you fail the Laws of the Game exam you will be contacted to determine a date for another attempt.
