Boomerangs FS Blue 4 (Cale Brown 7′, Brad Sawyer 9′, 25′, Jason O’Dwyer 27′) def. Boomerangs FS 2 (Badeldrin Abbas 21′, Elie Darwich 31′)
Boomerangs Blue took out another Boomerangs derby thanks to two goals in each half in Round Four. Cale Brown opened the scoring quickly for the hosts after just seven minutes, before Brad Sawyer doubled the lead just two minutes later. That advantage lasted just one minute past half-time as Badeldrin Abbas struck quickly, but Sawyer’s second and a goal from Jason O’Dwyer meant that the task was too much, and Elie Darwich’s goal inside the final ten minutes could not claw Boomerangs FS back into it.
NCU Untouchables Red 2 (Benjamin Rolfe 1′, Brant Taylor 22′) def. by Boomerangs White 4 (Nick Rathjen 5′, Anthony Giorgi 8′, Christopher Smith 15′, Nick Dahl 17′)
A four goal first-half salvo from Boomerangs White gave them a 4-2 Round Four win over NCU Untouchables Red. Ben Rolfe got proceedings underway in the first minute to give Untouchables the lead but from there on it was all Boomerangs. Nick Rathjen scored minutes later to level scores, before goals from Anthony Giorgi, Chris Smith and Nick Dahl had Boomerangs cruising and up 4-1 at half-time. Brant Taylor pulled a goal back two minutes into the second half for Untouchables, but the damage had been done as Boomerangs ran out winners.
Canberra Olympic Superprawns 6 (Robbie Cattanach 4′, 14′, 40′, Stephen Domenici 12′, Sam Habtemariam 16′, Jeremy Habtemariam 29′) def. NCU Untouchables Navy 3 (Michael Sydney 17′, Cameron Gordon 22′, Aidan Brown 39′)
Canberra Olympic hit NCU Untouchables Navy for six in Round four thanks in large part to a brilliant hat-trick from Robbie Cattanach. Cattanach scored his and the games first after four minutes before NPL Golden Boot winner Stephen Domenici scored eight minutes later, with Cattanach grabbing his second after just 14 minutes. Sam Habtemariam kept the momentum rolling and extended the lead to four goals, and only a late goal in the half from Michael Sydney kept Untouchables in touch with the Superprawns at the break.
O’Connor Knights 3 (Danny Krajacic 11′, 15′, 40′) def. by Timberwolves FC 8 (Ashley Blount 14′, 21′, 35′, Ben Harrington 15′, Tim Denne 22′, Misko Naumoski 23′, Matt Zeilthoser 29′, Steven Angelo Zardo 39′)
An Ash Blount hat-trick helped Timberwolves to a five-goal thrashing off O’Connor Knights in the Men’s Futsal Premier League, despite Danny Krajacic’s hat-trick for the Knights. Krajacic opened the proceedings after 11 minutes before Blount struck, only for Krajacic for Knights then Ben Harrington for Timberwolves to keep the goals flowing in quick succession. The sides went into the break locked at 2-2, but that is as far as parity went. Blount scored his second one minute in before Tim Denne and Misko Naumoski added quick goals.
With the game now secured for the Timberwolves, Matt Zeilthoser and Steven Angelo Zardo scored either side of Krajacic’s third to finish off an emphatic scoreline.
