The UC Stars have bounced back from an opening round defeat with a comprehensive win against ANU Apex in the Uni Derby.
It was a dream start for the Stars as Kate Walker opened the scoring seven seconds into the encounter.
It did not take long for UC to have their second of the night. Following a well worked move from deep in their own half, Becky Rizzo got on the end of a deflection to slot the ball home in the bottom corner past the keeper.
Eliza-Jane Norris scored soon after, giving UC their third goal inside the opening ten minutes of play.
UC continued with their dominance in the early stages of the second half, as Emily Daniel and Charli Gregson both scored inside ten minutes.
ANU did fight back with two of their own, scored by Alexandra Serras and Ana Chaverra Calle, before Maddie Steinacker sealed the win for UC with a late goal.
West Canberra backed up their opening round win with another success, this time over South Canberra Swift, who were playing their first game of the season after their Round One clash had been postponed.
As was often the case last season, Lightning took control of the match early on, and capitalised on their dominance with a goal in the sixth minute through Amy McLachlan.
Lightning kept the pressure up, and added a further three goals before the break as McLachlan got her second while Jamie Berkely got her first of the night and Dianne Wilson also got her name on the scoresheet.
It was a similar story in the early stages of the second half as Berkely completed her hattrick with another two goals in the first five minutes of the second stanza, taking her tally to seven goals in two games this season.
Despite the result effectively being wrapped up, Swift got on the scoresheet twice late on. Samantha Price was on hand to finish off some great build-up play with a quality strike, and Reilly Yuen intercepted a long ball forward before professionally slotting the ball home in the bottom corner.
The final game of the weekend took place on the Sunday evening, as North Fire continued on from their opening round win with a dominant display over a new look QP Poer side.
Natalie De Marco scored twice in the third minute, both times into the bottom right corner. Nikita Perry took the lead out the three goals in the 13th minute with a well struck goal.
Fire piled on the goals right before the break, as Ella Brown scored twice and Natalie De Marco completed her hattrick.
Much of the same in the seconds half as Fire controlled proceedings, adding five more goals to the tally.
De Marco scored her fourth of the evening, tapping home at the back post after a well worked passing move.
Fire would score four goals in the final ten minutes as Pearl Tein, Bessie Riethmuller, Ayla Robertson, and Jessica Giovinazzo got on the scoresheet.
