John Herd
John Herd, who is a Tuggeranong United Life Member, has been a tireless volunteer for over two decades in a variety of roles, including committee member, president, referee, coach, director of coaching, player, and manager.
Herd developed, implemented and ran the first Tuggeranong Junior Summer Development Squad in 2001 and continued to oversee that squad until 2005. He was also Director of Coaching in 2005 and Director of Grading in 2006 and is an FFA Coach Instructor.
As well as his many roles within junior and women’s football, he was also a pioneer of Masters football, coaching the first over 35s women’s team at our club before there was even a formal masters league for them to play in.
In 2013, Herd was inducted into the Capital Football Hall of Fame.
