Special Olympics Greater Canberra Club (SOGCC) strives to create a better ACT region by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people especially, those with an intellectual disability.
The 2016 Multi-Sports Gala day on Saturday 10th September aims to provide all Canberrans with the opportunity to come together and enjoy the chance to get active, have fun, make friends and be part of a community.
Coaches from a large number of local sporting agencies have graciously volunteered their time to facilitate the sporting activities for this event. All coaches have current coaching qualifications; relevant experience and working with vulnerable people accreditations.
In addition, attendees can also talk to and learn from current SOGCC athletes and coaches. Registration and general information for each sport will be available, if participants wish to pursue a future in a particular sport.
A small registration fee will be associated with participating in this Gala day. All proceeds will go towards the SOGCC and its athletes.
This event is open to people of all of ability levels. People with an intellectual and or physical disability are highly encouraged to attend. School aged participants must be accompanied by an adult. Softball ACT will be running a canteen for this event.
