In 2016, the International Football Association Board conducted a major review into the Laws of the Game.
The purpose of this revision was designed to make the Laws of the Game more accessible, concise and clear. As a result, the 2016/17 edition of the Laws of the Game is now 10,000 words fewer than previous editions.
The major revision of the Laws of the Game aims to create a clearer and consistent mode of interpretation worldwide for referees, coaches, players and fans of football.
The changes made by IFAB will be enforced in Capital Football competitions from the start of the 2017 Winter season.
Referees can view the new LOTG via the link below prior to attending the mandatory 2017 pre-season seminar for juniors and seniors. Referees will receive the FFA 2016/17 Laws of the Game edition when they attend the 2017 pre-season seminars.
