The fifth round of the Girls National Premier League took place on the weekend with the usual array of skills, excitement and goals galore! We wrap the results and news below.
NPL14
Three second-half goals allowed Belconnen united to come away with the points in their battle in the North against Gungahlin United. Eliza Georgiou opened the scoring just before the hour-mark and was followed onto the scoresheet by Sophie Suciu and Abby Denmead. Tuggeranong United scored five second-half goals in defeating BellaMonaro after going behind to a goal from Isabelle Howard. Madeliene Kebblewhite, Darcie Kickett, Maleeyah Manthongsy, Evie Hogan and Hayley Merriman scoring. Alessia Calabro, Amekia Rice from a penalty and Addison Milczarek were on target for Canberra Olympic I tehri 3-0 away win over Majura FC, whilst there were doubles for Sofia Ramirez, Aisha El Ayadi and Stella Finn as Canberra Croatia beat West Canberra Wanderers 8-3. Emily Gaykema netted a hat-trick for the defeated Wanderers.

A double from Violet Edmonds wasn’t enough for BellaMonaro as they were defeated by the odd-goal in five by Tuggeranong United in the NPL15 competition at Kambah 2. Goals from Evie Hogan, Kuenga Wangmo and Maleeyah Manthongsy proved enough for the home team. A goal in each half from Shae Dumesic and Olivia Osborn was enough for Majura FC to see off Canberra Olympic 2-0 at Dickson, whereas it took just one goal for Canberra Croatia to defeat West Canberra Wanderers, a fifteenth minute strike from Jamilla de Andrade the difference. Meanwhile, Belconnen united eased past Gungahlin United at Kaleen Enclosed with Evie Youden scoring twice. Amy Sephora and Lily Cummings added the other goals.

Holly Conlon and Samantha Shea both scored twice as Belconnen United roared to a 9-1 victory over Gungahlin United at McKellar Park, the Blue Devils leading 3-0 at the break before the floodgates opened in the second-half. Majura secured a comfortable win of their own, a 3-0 win over Canberra Olympic secured thanks to goals from Maggie Wright, Olivia Martiniello and Elianne Lum, whilst Alexis Garrett notched two for Canberra Croatia in their 4-0 away win over Wets Canberra Wanderers, Chloe Howell and Laura Tarrant adding to the Garrett double after the interval. Meanwhile, Breanna Costello scored either side of a Tanarra Mitrousis own goal as Tuggeranong United got the points with a 2-1 win over BellaMonaro.
