The NPL Boys season hit Round 3 on the weekend as the competition continued to throw up some scintillating football, lots of goals, and plenty of drama throughout the four matches played across the four age grades.
NPL14
Gungahlin United and Tigers FC remain the only teams with a 100% record in the NPL14 competition following big wins in their latest round of fixtures. Gunners leads the way on goal difference after they thumped Canberra Olympic 8-1 with three players, O’Shea Clohessy, Alec Latta, and Ayomiken Oyedale, each scoring two goals. Tigers were equally on form in front of goal, Andrew Frazer netting a brace as the Tigers roared past Tuggeranong United 6-2, but the biggest weekend winners were O’Connor Knights who hit nine without reply against Woden Valley, Tomi Radic helping himself to a five-goal haul. Wagga City Wanderers and Canberra Croatia shared the points in a tight 1-1 draw, Brindabella Blues edged past Radford College, and both Belconnen United and Monaro Panthers scored four away from home, Vincent Burton scoring two for the Blue Devils.

League leaders Canberra Croatia claimed a third straight win in the NPL15 league as they swatted aside Wagga City Wanderers in an entertaining match featuring seven goals, five of them from the visitors. Croatia leads the table from O’Connor knights, the only other side to have won three from three, the O’Connor team keeping up that record with a narrow 2-1 win at home to Woden Valley. Gungahlin are currently third, a Jacob Bott penalty the winning goal in their 2-1 win over Canberra Olympic, while Brindabella Blues netted two second-half goals to shake off a resilient Radford College and claim a 4-2 success as Noah Shoobridge and Ciaran Luu struck to make sure the Blues took all three points. Kian Keyvan enjoyed a splendid day for Majura FC scoring all four goals, including one from the penalty spot in a 4-2 win against ten-man Monaro Panthers, West Canberra Wanderers claimed a first win of the season, coming from 0-2 down to defeat Belconnen United 3-2 with Thomas Madigan netting a late winning goal., while Tuggeranong united and Tigers played out a 1-1 draw.

Three teams currently sit top of the NPL16 table with three wins from three as Tigers FC. Canberra Croatia, and Gungahlin United all continued their winning start to 2025. Four different players were on the scoresheet for Tigers FC in their 4-1 away win over Tuggeranong United, a margin of victory enough to keep the tigers on top on goal difference. Two goals from Lemar Katawazai, one from a penalty, helped Canberra Croatia to a 3-1 away win over Wagga City Wanderers, who ended the contest with ten players, with Gungahlin United pushed all the way by Canberra Olympic, Jacob Bott following up his goal in NPL14 with what proved to be the winner in a five-goal classic. The O’Connor Knights are in sixth place, Archer Stirling scoring two in a routine 3-0 win over Woden Valley, whilst Monaro Panthers were held to a 1-1 draw away at Majura FC, Toby Grant levelling for the hosts. Brindabella Blues racked up half-a-dozen without reply away to Radford College, the Blue Devils from Belconnen going goal crazy as Liam Kneeshaw grabbed five in the first-half, followed by Jaco Briggs with four in the second. Sam York also scored a treble as Belconnen romped to a massive 16-0 win over West Canberra Wanderers.

Gungahlin United and Tigers FC remain unbeaten after three rounds in the NPL18 league, leading the chasing pack, which includes an unbeaten Canberra Croatia who have a game in hand, by three points at this early stage of the campaign. Tiges were in fine fettle as they disposed of Tuggeranong United in Bonython, winning 5-0, while a penalty from Sebastian Paragalli was enough for Gungahlin to eke a 1-0 win over Canberra Olympic. Belconnen United are third, they netted nine without reply at West Canberra Wanderers, just ahead of Wagga City Wanderers who were defeated by Canberra Croatia at home in an eight-goal match in which the visiting team scored five. Elsewhere, Kris Raad found the et four times for O’Connor Knights as they ran over the top of Woden Valley, Monaro Panthers scored a first win of 2025, winning away at Majura FC, and Brindabella Blues scored six on their visit to Radford College.
