Georgia Ghirardello and Aisha Strutt will take charge of this weekend’s Cup Finals at Deakin Stadium with Ghirardello appointed to the Australia Cup Qualifying Final between Monaro Panthers and West Canberra Wanderers and Stutt in the middle for the Federation Cup Final between Belconnen United and Canberra Olympic.
Georgia Ghirardello has steadily made her way through the officiating ranks in the ACT on the way to becoming one of the top referee’s in the region. She made her debut in the Liberty A-League under its previous name, the Westfield W-League back in 2019 taking charge of the match between the Newcastle Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers.
A well-known face on the local scene with over 15-years experience, Georgia has refereed numerous National Premier League matches and is no stranger to the big occasion having been appointed for the 2022 A-League Women’s Grand Final. Ghirardello will be assisted by Delfina Dimoski and Alex Eagleton with Scott Boon as the fourth official.
The Women’s Federation Cup Final will be officiated by Aisha Strutt. Aisha started refereeing in 2015 and have had the privilege of officiating a number of finals matches, including the Federation Cup Final in 2021 where Canberra Croatia defeated West Canberra Wanderers.
She had previously been Assistant Referee in the 2020 Women’s National Premier League Grand Final, a natural progression having moved through the ranks taking charge of many of the lower age-grade big matches, her first being the WPL U13 Grand Final.
An up-and-coming football official who will go much further, Aisha is grateful for the opportunity to officiate this final for the second year in a row. Strutt will be assisted by Lara Smith and Alexandra Mackay with Scott Boon as the fourth official.
