Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football. In 2023 Female Football Week will take place from Friday 19th to Sunday 28th May, 2023.
Women and Girls 5-a-Side Tournament
Capital Football will host a Women’s and Girl’s 5-a-side tournament times and dates TBC.
The tournament is free of charge, and it is a completely social event with no finals. The Girl’s tournament is for U9 – U17 and the women’s tournament is for U18 to open age. Rules and regulations will be sent out closer to the date. Maximum of 10 players per team. There will be a cap to the number of teams that can register so apply early to avoid disappointment. Female Football Week
During the week Capital Football will be hosting a range of 3-a-side tournaments, being played at Hawker Football Centre. The competition inclusive events are;
All Ability 3-a-Side Tournament
This tournament is for people with a disability (intellectual or physical) – both male and female.
- Over-43’s – Female only
- Thrifty Three’s – U18 to Open Age
This tournament is for male and female players, but each squad must have at least three female players.
- Diplomatic 3’s
This tournament is for our embassies and refugees in Canberra, and is open to male and female players, but each squad must have at least two female players.
There is no cost to the tournaments and the rules and regulations will be sent out prior to the tournaments. There will be a cap to the number of teams that can register so apply early to avoid disappointment. Registration details will be out soon.
During the Women and Girls 5-a-Side tournament, clubs will have a chance to have a space to put up a tent and use it to promote their clubs. If you are interested in doing this, please email Clare Pyc at clare.pyc@capitalfootball.com.au
