Two products of Capital Football’s All Abilities program will fly the flag for the ACT this October, with Luc Launder and Carly Salmon named in the CommBank Pararoos and CommBank ParaMatildas squads for the IFCPF World Cups in Atlanta, USA.
Launder, a defender, has been selected in the 14-player CommBank Pararoos squad for the IFCPF Men’s World Cup 2026, running from 12 to 24 October.
Head Coach Kai Lammert’s side has been drawn into Group B alongside Brazil, Spain and Chile, with all matches to be played at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center.
The Pararoos open their campaign against Brazil on Thursday 15 October, before facing Spain on Friday 16 October and Chile on Sunday 18 October.
Salmon will line up for the CommBank ParaMatildas at the IFCPF Women’s World Cup, held in Atlanta from 14 to 23 October, with the side also drawn into Group B.
Salmon, who debuted for the ParaMatildas in 2023, has previously spoken about the significance of representing Australia on the world stage, saying she wants to help “unlock a generation of opportunities for young girls living with disability.”
Both Launder and Salmon came through Capital Football’s All Abilities program, an inclusion pathway that has become a proud pipeline for para football talent in the region.
“Seeing two of our inclusion program players earn national selection for the IFCPF World Cup is a moment of immense pride for Capital Football,” says Capital Football Technical Director, Phil Booth.
“Their journey shows what’s possible when inclusive environments, strong coaching and genuine opportunity come together.
“They’ll carry the hopes of our community with them in Atlanta, and we know they’ll inspire many more to follow.”
The selections mark a standout moment for Capital Football’s inclusion program, underscoring the pathway it provides for players with disability to reach the international stage.
