Canberra’s three A-League referees have all been selected to be part of the semi-final officiating team at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium this weekend.
Adam Powers has been appointed as Assistant Referee for the match between Sydney FC and Adelaide United on Saturday, while Owen Goldrick and Greg Taylor have both been appointed as Assistant Referees for the Melbourne City v Macarthur FC semi on Sunday.
Capital Football Referee Development Manager Mark Hester said it’s a great achievement.
“I’m very pleased for Owen, Greg and Adam and they are to be congratulated,” Mark said.
“To see their performances recognised with these prestigious appointments is testament to the level of professionalism, commitment and sacrifice they have shown over the course of the season.”
This sees all of Capital Football’s national panel referees appointed to a finals match, after Delfina Dimoski, Georgia Ghirardello and Lauren Hargrave officiated in the Westfield W-League finals series in April.
“For Capital Football, it is very satisfying to see all three of our A-League officials involved in the final series, especially coming off the success of our Westfield W-League officials earlier this year,” Mark said.
“We wish them well for the games and trust they will enjoy the experiences.”
Sydney FC and Adelaide United will fight for a spot in the A-League Grand Final from 7pm on Saturday, before Melbourne City FC and Macarthur FC do battle on Sunday from 4pm.
Both games are being broadcast on Fox Sports, Kayo Sports and through the My Football Live App.
