Updated: All football related activities will remained suspended until 5pm 17 September, in line with the ACT Government public health order.
—
Following the ACT Government’s announcement today, all football related activities will remain suspended until 2 September with an update on the public health order expected mid next week.
Yesterday, it was also announced that the Regional New South Wales lockdown will continue until at least September 10.
Contingency plans for the winter competition continue to be assessed. A survey was sent to clubs and committees last week, to capture the overarching preference of how they would like the season to be completed.
Capital Football is now in the process of reviewing these results, to present options for the board to consider next week.
Any further extension to lockdown, potential easing of restrictions, transition period to competitions, NSW Regional lockdowns and access to fields will all influence what is possible.
More comprehensive information will be shared next week, once the feedback is reviewed and more is known about the public health order.
Please continue to follow the ACT and NSW Government health advice, stay safe and we look forward to getting back out on the pitch soon.
