Capital Football advises that Tuggeranong United’ Football Club (TUFC) has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the 2025 National Premier League Women’s (NPLW) Reserve Grade competition, for the remainder of the season. This withdrawal takes effect immediately for TUFC’ Reserves team.
This decision follows ongoing consultation between TUFC and Capital Football and was communicated to players at their Thursday night training session last week.
The withdrawal is namely due to a significant number of season-ending injuries and the health and safety of the remaining players. TUFC have done everything they can to avoid this situation, however continuation in the Reserves competition risks the health and well-being of the players, coaches, and club officials.
While it is a disappointing outcome, Capital Football acknowledges the courage of the club in prioritising the welfare of its players and the significant effort being made to support them during difficult times.
As a result of this decision, the following will occur:
- All Reserve Grade matches played by TUFC in Rounds 1 and 2 will stand, and the results will remain recorded as played.
- All Reserves matches scheduled in Round 3 will be recorded as 3-0 forfeits in favour of TUFC’s opponents.
- All matches featuring TUFC Reserve Grade following the completion of Round 2 – in Reserves – will be changed to a bye.
These updates will be reflected in Dribl by Capital Football by COB today, Wednesday 6 August.
TUFC are committed to ensuring ongoing participation in the NPL Women’s and Girls space in 2026 and are working with Capital Football to ensure this is possible.
We ask all clubs to respect TUFC’s decision and join us in working together to support the club during this time.
