The National Premier League girls’ competition reached Round 10 on the weekend with some exceptional matches played across the Australian Capital Territory. Here we recap what happened at all four venues.

Canberra Olympic kept up their chase at the top of the National Premier League U14 Girls table with a convincing 3-0 away success at Gungahlin United, the away side showing top form at Harrison Playing Fields to claim all three points. Nothing could separate the teams at Melrose Grass where West Canberra Wanderers and Majura FC toiled for ninety minutes without reward, the match ending goalless. Canberra Croatia showed a ruthless edge in front of goal as they defeated BellaMonar0 10-0 at Yarralumla, whilst Elize Georgiou and Ana Mann helped Belconnen United to a 2-1 win over Tuggeranong United at Kaleen Enclosed, Madeleine Kebblewhite replying for Tuggeranong.

Belconnen United were in commanding form at Kaleen Enclosed in the National Premier League U15 Girls competition as the Blue Devils scored eleven times without reply in a comprehensive win over visiting Tuggeranong United. Canberra Olympic enjoyed a good away day at Harrison Playing Fields as goals from Alexia Villano, Faria Pasha, Claire Denney, and Charlotte McNamara helped them to a 4-0 win over Gungahlin United. Elsewhere, Majura FC were narrow 3-2 winners over West Canberra Wanderers in an entertaining match at Melrose, and Canberra Croatia scored five in their win over BellaMonaro at Yarralumla.

In the National Premier League Girls U17 competition on Sunday there was a 3-0 victory for West Canberra Wanderers over Majura FC at Melrose Synthetic, a result that helped the Wanderers keep up their push for top spot in a competitive league. Gungahlin United struck seven at Harrison against Canberra Olympic, Zara Hall and Olivia Jose accountable for six of them as they both netted hat-tricks, a Mackenna Dorsett penalty the other goal as the game finished 7-1, while Belconnen United won 9-0 against Tuggeranong United at McKellar Park.
