The National Premier League Boys competition is beginning to take shape as the latest round of matches were played under the azure, blue skies of a picture-perfect weekend for football in the National Capital.
NPL14
O’Connor Knights continued their unbeaten start to the 2025 season with a convincing 5-0 win over Tigers FC in the NPLB14 competition, the Knights moving clear of their opponents in their top-of-the-table clash in fine style, dominating the contest from the opening whistle. At the other end of the table Majura FC claimed a first win of the season with a 3-0 success over Radford College, while a penalty from Chang Keun Kim allowed West Canberra Wanderers to defeat Canberra Olympic 2-1. Elsewhere in Saturday games Isaac Carroll scored twice for Wagga City Wanderers in their 3-0 win over Brindabella Blues. There were two send offs as Monaro Panthers defeated Tuggeranong United 4-1, the Panthers making the better use of the space afforded and scoring two late goals to claim the win via Frederick Hempenstall and Hilary Pius, Belconnen United’s Louis Harding scored twice in their 5-0 win over Canberra Croatia, whilst even with ten men Gungahlin United were too good for Woden Valley, William Oh helping himself to a hat-trick in the 13-0 success.

There was a first win of the season for Radford College in the NPLB15 competition, a single goal enough for the College to defeat Majura FC in a hard-fought encounter at Dickson College, and the same result was enough for West Canberra Wanderers to continue to push for the top four with a victory over Canberra Olympic. Logan Volkert scored twice for O’Connor Knights as they edged a seven-goal thriller with Tigers FC, the home team also seeing Benjamin Lucic and Filip Pasalic amongst the goals in an exciting match. Meanwhile, goals from Jackson Myers and Ollie Felke allowed Wagga City Wanderers to emerge with a 2-1 win over Brindabella Blues, for who Thomas Ringwood responded. Woden Valley scored twice in the first-half in their 3-0 win over Gungahlin United, Timothy Lutnant and Luca Storgato with those goals, Jeremy Specker adding one after the interval, Canberra Croatia came from 2-0 down to win 6-2 away to Belconnen United, Elliot Moss and Elijah Birrell scoring two each, and Zac Morris bagged four for Tuggeranong United as they won impressively 6-1 away to Monaro Panthers.

Four different players were on the scoresheet for O’Connor Knights as they claimed the points with a convincing 4-1 win over visiting Tigers FC at O’Connor Enclosed, Finn Dykes, Max Naunton, Dylan Penders and Louis Middleton-Young doing the damage for the Knights. William Johns and Cameron Ackerman netted the goals that gave Wagga City Wanderers a win away at Brindabella Blues, and there was a hat-trick for Sebastian Anderson as Canberra Olympic ran riot scoring thirteen times without replay in a big visit to West Canberra Wanderers. The other Saturday match saw Radford College claim a narrow 2-1 victory away to Majura FC. There were seven goals in the match between Gungahlin United and Woden Valley, the Gunners accounting for four of them, two from Andreas Kaskoutas, while Fermin Silberkasten doing likewise for Woden. At South Jerrabomberra, Alamgir Lodhi scored twice, once from a penalty, as Tuggeranong United saw off Monaro Panthers 5-1, and Belconnen United edged out Canberra Croatia in a nine-goal thriller, winning 5-4.

Denis Zimba claimed the match-ball with a second-half treble as Brindabella Blues eventually wore down the visiting Wagga City Wanderers to claim a win in the NPLB18 competition. Zimba scored three in sixteen minutes, adding to a Riley Brown goal in the 4-0 win. Majura FC racked up five in a comfortable win over Radford College, Tyler Andreatta began the scoring for Tigers FC, joined by Riley O’Sullivan and Sean Marasha in a 3-1 away win over O’Connor Knights, and Mason Fardell netted twice as Canberra Olympic hammered West Canberra Wanderers, Valentino Jakimovski, Fletcher Maconachie, Evan Richards, Daniel Evans, Will Keenan, Zidan El Jammoudi, and Riley Carter all adding their name to the scoresheet as the visiting tea struck nine. Gungahlin United were awarded a 3-0 forfeit win over Woden Valley. Belconnen United edged out Canberra Croatia 3-2 in a tremendous match, Cooper Kilby, a penalty from Teale Robinson and a goal from Ziggy Schipper being enough for the Blue Devils, and there were four dismissals as Monaro Panthers beat Tuggeranong United 1-0 thanks to a goal on the half-hour from Siddhant Sapkota.
