Goalkeeper Nick Van Aalst added to the score to stretch the lead to four and Giorgi completed his hat-trick with three minutes to go. Both sides had efforts on goal in the first half but were unable to convert, and reached the break locked at a goalless stalemate. Daniel Giovinazzo broke the deadlock after 27 minutes and that goal gave Boomerangs the ascendancy, with Giovinazzo grabbing a second just one minute later to break the game open. Misko Naumoski gave Timberwolves a glimmer of hope with a strike two minutes from time, but Ryan Quarmby sealed the deal in the final minute for Boomerangs.
