The Capital Football Performance Department is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified people who would like to join the ACT Representative staff for the following tournaments:
- FFA Girls National Training Centre Challenge (U17: 28 May-1 June, 2017)
- FFA Boys National Youth Championships (U13 and U14: 22-29 September, 2018) (Assistant Coach & Team Manager Only)
- FFA Girls National Youth Championships (U14 and U15: 14-21 July, 2017)
The above-mentioned National Championships/Training Centre Challenges are conducted as part of the Talent Identification process for future Australian Youth representative teams.
Roles, responsibilities and expectations |
Head Coach
- Provide leadership, coaching, management, strategic, tactical and technical direction
to the Team.
- Scout/identify potential players during the respective NPL competitions.
- Receive recommendations from NPL Technical Directors and NPL coaches regarding potential players.
- Conduct invitation only trials for those players identified and recommended by NPL TD’s.
- Select the final squad in cooperation with Capital Football TD.
- Prepare the team for the respective Championships/Challenges.
- Attend all technical meetings at the respective Championships/Challenges.
- Oversee and manage support staff.
- Efficiently communicate with players and their parents/guardians to best represent Capital Football player/parent Code of Conduct.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, sporting conduct, sportsmanship and professionalism whilst representing Capital Football and the ACT.
- Attend Capital Football and ACT coach’s meetings when required.
Assistant Coach
- Assist the Head Coach to scout potential players during the respective NPL competitions.
- Assist the Head Coach to conduct invitation only trials for those players identified and recommended by NPL TD’s.
- Assist the Head Coach to select the final squad in cooperation with Capital Football TD.
- Assist the Head Coach to prepare the team for the respective Championships/Challenges.
- Efficiently communicate with players and their parents/guardians to best represent Capital Football player/parent Code of Conduct.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, sporting conduct, sportsmanship and professionalism whilst representing Capital Football and the ACT.
- Attend Capital Football and ACT coach’s meetings when required.
Team Manager
- Efficiently manage all the team football equipment, including the washing and drying of the team playing uniforms, packing team equipment and playing uniforms on the bus for match days.
- Efficiently manage collection and distribution of player meals.
- Manage all match day duties including preparing team sheets, change rooms and completing match cards.
- Coordinating with Head Coach and informing players in regards to meal times, lights out times, etc.
- Efficiently communicate with players and their parents/guardians to best represent Capital Football player/parent code of conduct.
- Collection and return of hire vehicles.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, sporting conduct, sportsmanship and professionalism whilst representing Capital Football and the ACT.
- Attend Capital Football and ACT coach’s meetings when required.
