Capital Futsal would like to congratulate to the winners of the Senior Futsal League Wednesday Div 2, Div 3 and Div 4 Men’s Competition Finals.
The Final Matches of the 23/24 Senior Futsal Summer competitions kicked off with the Division 2 Men’s match between Samo Knights and Supercats. Both teams came into this match with hard fought semifinal victories and with one win each when these two teams played between each other in the regular season.
It was Samo Knights who came out all guns blazing in the first half and quickly took control of the match to lead 6-2 at half time. With a 4-goal difference at the break the Supercats needed a spark to get themselves back in the game and the second half started well them as they managed to score two quick goals to give them a lifeline but then Samo Knights halted their comeback with goals of their own.
Both teams traded goals back and forth in what was a truly entertaining second half. Unfortunately, time ran out on the Supercats who put up a great fight till the end, but the Knights recorded a 12-7 victory.
The second match of the night was the Division 4 Competition, and it was between Aardvarks United and the Glumsbys. The Glumsbys could not have asked for a better start to the match scoring a goal minute to lead 4-0 after only four minutes but that’s where the scoring stopped for the Glumsbys. Aardvarks United then got a foot in the game and controlled the rest of the match scoring seven unanswered goals to claim a 7-4 success.
The last match of the night saw the Div10 Champs versus Don’t Let ‘Em Shoot in the Men’s Division 3 Final. From start to finish the match was controlled and dominated by the Div 10 Champs with a team boasting with some NPL Quality players they looked cool and calm throughout this match. Scoring eight times during the match the Div 10 Champs didn’t look phased when Don’t Let ‘Em Shoot managed to score and held on to a strong performance running out 8-2 winners.
