Marko Vrkic
Marko Vrkic was inducted into the Capital Football Hall of Fame in 2015 in recognition of his Canberra Croatia FC legacy.
Marko Vrkic came to Australia in 1985 and has been an integral part of Canberra Croatia FC ever since. After a playing career that saw him win three league titles, two grand finals, and a pair of Federation Cups, he retired and took over the coaching reigns at the club. He went on to become the president of his beloved Deakin, where he still holds the mantle of the longest-serving president at the club.
Under his stewardship, the club won a raft of prizes, becoming one of the greatest teams that Canberra has seen. Marko’s impact can be felt in the very foundation of the club as he was instrumental in the rebuilding of Deakin Stadium in 2004.
A true football person through and through and certainly one of a kind.
