Long serving referee, Allyson Flynn was inducted into the Capital Football Hall of Fame for her outstanding contribution for football in the ACT and surrounding region.
Allyson has officiated at the Olympics, FIFA Women’s World Cup, AFC Champions League and AFC Women’s Asian Cup, and closer to home, more than 50 A-League and Westfield W-League matches.
In addition to her on-field achievements, Allyson’s contribution to the development of match officials in
the Canberra and surrounding region has been, and continues to be, very important to her. She has encouraged, supported, mentored, coached and advocated for referees at a local, state and national level throughout her career and beyond.
Allyson is an inspirational role model for all referees, especially women. Her achievements, commitment and dedication to her own career along with supporting and developing grassroots referees, through to her strong friendships built with her peers at a national or international is un-paramount. Her legacy is meaningful and will influence the next generation of elite female officials for years to come.
