Vale: Ross Jones
The President, Board, staff and members of Capital Football would like to express their deep sadness at the passing of former staff member, referee and multi-tasking volunteer Ross Jones.
Ross worked at Capital Football as Men’s League manager for two years. Even though he officially retired from full time employment he continued to work at Hawker FC maintaining the synthetic pitch up until December 2015 when he had to stop due to ill health. He was also a key volunteer as the ‘go to’ groundsman for the Kanga Cup for six years. Ross was a Life Member and long standing senior referee. He was also heavily involved in community cricket.
Whilst Ross was never one to be in the spot light, he often provided coaching and support to other referees and worked away in the background to provide the resources necessary for the sporting community to enjoy their sport, no matter what sport that might be.
Ross had a great sense of humour and was well respected by everyone who had contact with him
Capital Football extends its sincere sympathy to Chris, Shawn and the Jones family.
