Canberra Croatia travel to Northwest Sydney to take on Football NSW NPL Men’s Premiers NWS Spirit in Round Three of the Australian Championship, with a chance to go top of Group C.
Off the back of a come from behind win over Preston Lions in Round Two, Dean Ugrinic’s side head to Christie Park to take on a Spirit side that are yet to be beaten with two draws in their opening matches.
The two sides are fairly evenly matched, both with four goals scored so far, while Spirit’s defence just edges Croatia’s, with four goals conceded to five.
Croatia will likely be the more confident going in, with Maxx Green’s second half double leading to the clubs first win against interstate opposition.
Spirit are currently winless in their last four matches, but will be buoyed by a home ground advantage in front of their Christie Park faithful.
A stoppage-time equaliser for Avondale meant Spirit had to settle for a point again in a 3-3 draw, after their last-minute equaliser against Preston Lions in Round 1.
