The National Premier League Girls competition reached Round 9 on the weekend, here’s what occurred across the region.

Canberra Croatia continued to set the pace in the Girls National Premier League U14 competition as they claimed another victory with a comprehensive 5-0 success over Gungahlin United. Goals from Ruby Selkirk and Soraya Hillman enabled Majura FC to record a 2-0 win away to BellaMonaro on Saturday morning, while strikes from Antonina Catanzariti, Madeline Field and Sephora Fiori helped Canberra Olympic to a 3-1 win over Belconnen United for whom Aggie Shaw replied late on. Leila Evans scored two for west Canberra Wanderers as they defeated Tuggeranong United 3-2, holding on as Tuggeranong scored two in the second half to claim the win. In midweek, Canberra Olympic had moved into second place on the table with a 4-0 win over Majura FC at South Jerrabomberra Regional Sporting Complex. Sephora Fiori struck twice for Olympic.

Ruby Selkirk was on target twice as Majura FC recorded a 4-0 away win over BellaMonaro in the Girls National Premier League under-15 league. Olivia Rushton had opened the scoring before a Skye Yeo own goal increased the lead for Majura. Belconnen United recorded a big win as they dominated Canberra Olympic at O’Connor Enclosed, Abby Denmead scoring two as the visitors netted eight whilst keeping a clean sheet, Leilani Denis also netted two goals as Canberra Croatia eased past Gungahlin United with a 3-0 success at Yarralumla, and Ava Tran was at the double for West Canberra Wanderers in their 3-0 away day win in the Southside derby against Tuggeranong United. In the midweek catch-up game at South Jerrabomberra Regional Sporting Complex, BellaMonaro earned themselves a first point of the season as they held Canberra Olympic to a goalless draw.

Olivia Martiniello bagged herself a hat-trick as Majura FC came out on top in their encounter with BellaMonaro in the opening game of the National Premier League U17 weekend, Grace Fenton and Shae Dumesic adding a double each as Majura scored thirteen without reply. At O’Connor Enclosed on Sunday morning Belconnen United lost their first game at this level in the regular season for two and a half years as a brilliantly struck free-kick from Allira Barsley proved the difference for Canberra Olympic in a 1-0 win. Over at Deakin Stadium goals from Zara Hall, Josei Montanari, and Annelise McLennan helped Gungahlin United to a 3-1 win over Canberra Croatia, and West Canberra Wanderers claimed the bragging rights in the Southside Derby with a 10-0 away win over Tuggeranong United at Kambah 2.
