The latest round of National Premier League Girls action was completed over the weekend as the competition reached Round 7. Here we take a look across the three age grades at what occurred at the four venues.
NPL14
A goal from Emily Mills in the 73rd minute allowed Gungahlin United to claim a 2-1 win over West Canberra Wanderers at Melrose in the NPL14 competition. Emily Gaykema gave Wanderers the lead before Charlotte Millar equalised for the away team setting up Mill’s winner. Emily Russell and Aggie Shaw scored the goals for Belconnen United as they defeated Majura FC 2-1, whilst an own goal, plus strikes from Ivana Peric, Madeline Field and Antonia Catanzariti saw Canberra Olympic defeat BellaMonaro 4-0. It was also 4-0 at Kambah 2 as Tuggeranong United were beaten by Canberra Croatia.

Honours were even at Dickson Playing Fields as Majura FC and Belconnen United shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Sybilla Larkin put the Blue Devils ahead in the 38th minute, only for Charlotte Karl to level matters in the 71st minute from the penalty spot for the hosts. Zoe Van Oosten netted two of West Canberra Wanderers’ four goals in their win over Gungahlin United, goals from Madeline Tuttle and Bianka Apostoloska gave Canberra Croatia a 2-0 win at Tuggeranong United, whilst Canberra Olympic defeated BellaMonaro 6-1 with Farisa Pasha on target twice.

NPL17
Darcy Williams had a field day for Canberra Olympic in the NPL17 competition as she netted eight times in the home team’s 17-1 hammering of luckless BellaMonaro FC at O’Connor Enclosed. Sofia Pirotta was also amongst the goals, scoring six of her own in the big win. Daniela Eskinja bagged a brace for Belconnen United in their 5-0 away win at Majura FC, a feat also achieved by Grace York in West Canberra Wanderers 5-1 home win over Gungahlin United. Meanwhile, Tuggeranong United and Canberra Croatia drew 1-1 at Kambah, Bronte Kontny scoring for United, and Melissa Whittington responding for Croatia.
