The National Premier League Girls competition reached the halfway mark of the season, as Round 12 was played out over the weekend. Here is what happened.
NPL14
Matches in the National Premier League Girls U14 competition began on Tuesday evening as Tuggeranong United and Majura FC couldn’t be separated at Melrose Synthetic in their rescheduled Round Seven clash, with the fixture ending 0-0.
Tuggeranong travelled to South Jerrabomberra to take on BellaMonaro, as two first half goals propelled the visitors to the win. Strikes from Amani Fredin and Evia Hogan ensured Tuggeranong left with full points in a hard-fought win. An action-packed second half saw the points shared between Gungahlin United and Belconnen United. Emily Mills scored twice for Gunners, while Eliza Georgiou replied with a brace of her own. A composed performance from Canberra Croatia saw them take the points from their trip to face West Canberra Wanderers. An Aislinn O’Dwyer double coupled with goals from Anabella Diamond and Aisha El Ayadi, saw the league leaders continue their 8-game unbeaten streak. Canberra Olympic kept in touch with top spot on the ladder, a first half double from Sephora Fiori and a Madeline Field strike leading the side to a 3-1 win over Majura FC, Ruby Selkirk responding for the visitors.

Majura FC were too good for Tuggeranong United in the NPL15 midweek catch-up match at Nicholls Synthetic as goals from Sophia Boutzios, Grace Fenson, Olivia Osborn, Ruby Selkirk, and Shae Dumesic, helped them to a 5-0 win.
A goal in each half saw Tuggeranong leave South Jerrabomberra with three points over BellaMonaro. Isabella Saunders opened the scoring in the 19th minute, Maleeyah Manthongsy sealing the result in the 71st minute. Belconnen United romped to a 7-1 win over Gungahlin United with a blistering start. Lily Mae Cummings scored a brace with Evie Youden, Amy Sephora, Sybilla Larkin, Tahli Robertson and Anica Pilatic also on the scoresheet. Ellie Boog scored for Gunners. Three second half goals helped West Canberra Wanderers to a win at home against fellow top four hopefuls Canberra Croatia. Zoe Van Oosten opened the scoring with Amelie Moss and Amelie Griffiths sealed the result. Majura FC held on to second spot on the ladder, with a win away to Canberra Olympic. A first half own-goal was the only score, as the visitors left with the three points.

Goals from Maggie Wright and Layla Barbour earned Majura FC all three points from their midweek match with Tuggeranong United in the NPL17 competition at Melrose Synthetic, as Majura came away with a hard-fought, but deserved, 2-0 success.
Tuggeranong United wrapped up a perfect set of results against BellaMonaro with a 5-0 win. Abreanna Costello brace, with scores from Savanah Papalia, Laine Cartwright and Zoe Bartels-Panteleon finding the back of the net. Belconnen United remained top of the ladder, on goal difference, with a dominant 7-0 win over Gungahlin United. West Canberra Wanderers showed their class with a strong five-goal win over Canberra Croatia. A Grace York hattrick was complimented by a brace from Chloe Howell and a goal from Siena Towndrow. Gabriella Novak scored for the visitors. Canberra Olympic kept up with the top two, with a narrow win over Majura FC. Sofia Pirotta scored in the 60th minute to seal the points.
