The latest round of action in the National Premier League Boys divisions, before the enforced Kanga Cup break, saw a multitude of goals, superb displays, and top-class action.
NPL14
Belconnen United secured a 3-1 away win over Majura FC thanks to goals from Vincent Burton, Logan Woods, and a Louis Harding penalty in the NPL Boys U14 competition. A single goal from Hayden Phipps helped Brindabella Blues to a 1-0 win over Canberra Olympic at O’Connor Enclosed, while Canberra Croatia and Monaro Panthers drew 0-0. Elsewhere, Wagga City Wanderers were too good for Woden Valley, winning comfortably in the Riverina, netting eight goals and keeping their visitors scoreless. On Sunday, Tigers FC were rampant in the Winter sunshine at Gungahlin Enclosed Oval as they blitzed Radford College with a ten-goal success, Gungahlin United claimed the spoils with a 2-0 away win over O’Connor Knights at O’Connor Enclosed, and Tuggeranong United and West Canberra Wanderers shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

There was a big away win for Belconnen United over Majura FC at Ainslie on Saturday morning in the NPL15 competition as the Blue Devils struck six without reply against ten man Majura. Anthony Sajler led the way with a brace of goals. Strikes from Cruz Tan and Marley Hately were enough for Canberra Olympic to defeat Brindabella Blues at O’Connor Enclosed, while Elijah Birrell grabbed four of Canberra Croatia’s ten as they thrashed Monaro Panthers at Yarralumla, and Wagga City Wanderers defeated Woden Valley 1-0. Bryan Wah, Luciano AL-Allaq, and Zac Morris each scored for Tuggeranong United as they defeated West Canberra Wanderers 3-0 in the Southside Derby on Sunday morning, whilst O’Connor Knights were too hot for Gungahlin United at O’Connor Enclosed, Logan Volkart, Luca Staltari, Lucas Groves, and a penalty from Gerard Van Den Bos contributing to a 4-0 home win.

Despite being reduced to ten men early on, Canberra Olympic still had too much for Brindabella Blues as goals from Sebastian Anderson and Jonathan Koffina secured a 2-0 home win at O’Connor Enclosed in the NPL16 league. Elsewhere on Saturday, Canberra Croatia dismantled Monaro Panthers at Yarralumla, Cristiano Subasic, Simeon Omosigho, and Tomislav Celebija all scoring two each in the 8-2 victory, and Wagga City Wanderers beat Woden Valley by the odd-goal in five claiming the points with a 3-2 success. On Sunday, there was a seven-goal thriller at O’Connor Enclosed as Gungahlin United slipped to a narrow 3-4 defeat against the league leading O’Connor Knights. Tuggeranong won the Southside derby 3-0 over West Canberra Wanderers with goals from Charlie Lomas, Aarush Bhatia, and a Caomh Meade penalty.

Canberra Olympic began the week in t NPL18 competition with a 4-1 home win over O’Connor Knights thanks in part, to a hat-trick from Omuaru Ezekiel-Hart. But, come Saturday, it was Olympic on the wrong end of the same score as Brindabella Blues took the points from O’Connor Enclosed, Denis Zimba striking twice for the visitors. Gabriel Garcia scored two for Belconnen United, as did Eli Georgiou, as the Blue Devils won 6-0 away to Majura FC, whilst at Yarralumla, Canberra Croatia defeated Monaro Panthers 4-2 in an entertaining match. Wagga City Wanderers meanwhile were in great form as they saw off Woden Valley 6-0 in the Riverina, whilst there was nothing to choose between the teams at O’Connor Enclosed as the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate. In the Southside derby, Tuggeranong United emerged with the victory, edging past West Canberra Wanderers 2-1.
