NCU Untouchables Navy 5 (Michael Sydney 9′, Aidan Brown 27′, Matthew Corey 28′, Ryan De Vries 40′, Own Goal 23′) def. Boomerangs FS 1 (Jayde James-Ward 35′)
NCU Navy got off to a strong start against Boomerangs as Michael Sydney scored nine minutes in, but Boomerangs held their own in an even first half. But an own goal just three minutes into the second half doubled the Navy advantage, before Aidan Brown and Matthew Corey added two more goals in quick succession. Jayde James-Ward was able to pull a goal back for Boomerangs with five minutes to go before Ryan De Vries restored the lead to four goals on the stroke of full-time.
Boomerangs FS Blue 4 (Jason O’Dwyer 15′, Daniel Giovinazzo 33′, 35′, 39′) def. HNK O’Connor Knights 1 (Kynan Dodd 8′)
O’Connor Knights went down for the second week in a row in Round 2 as Daniel Giovinazzo’s second half hat-trick lead Boomerangs Blue to a strong win. Knights went ahead early as Kynan Dodd scored just eight minutes in, before Jason O’Dwyer levelled with five minutes left before the break. The second half began evenly and Knights had a good chance as Danny Krajacic hit the crossbar, but but three goals in the final seven minutes from Giovinazzo delivered a strong win for the Boomerangs side.
Timberwolves FC 3 (Misko Nuamoski 2′, Tim Denne 20′, Sam Carters 33′) drew. NCU Untouchables Red 3 (Ryan Tredinnick 5′, Benjamin Rolfe 25′, Jack Kaye 39′)
Timberwolves and Untouchables Red played out a thrilling six-goal draw as Jack Kaye scored in the final two minutes to steal a point. Misko Naumoski got Timberwolves off to the perfect start with a goal two minutes in, cancelled out only three minutes later by Ryan Tredinnick. But Tim Denne gave Timberwolves back the lead on the stroke of the break only to see the lead erased five minutes into the second half by Ben Rofle’s goal. The see-sawing match continued as Sam Carters looked to have scored the vital goal with seven minutes left, but Kaye’s strike in the dying stages ensure the two sides would share the spoils.
Canberra Olympic Superprawns 1 (Robbie Cattanach 11′) def. by Boomerangs FS White 3 (Nicholas Dahl 10′, 18′, Jonathan Ciminelli 37′)
Canberra Olympic Superprawns came back to Earth after their big first round win as Boomerangs White ran out 3-1 winners. Nick Dahl opened the scoring for Boomerangs 10 minutes in, but Robbie Cattanach was on hand just a minute later to erase the Superprawns deficit. Two minutes before the break Dahl completed his brace to wrestle the lead back at half-time, and a back and forth second half saw both sides butcher chances before Jonathan Ciminelli sealed the match with three minutes to go in the half.
