Capital Football can today announce Canberra Foot and Ankle Clinic as the official presenting partner for the Walking Football program.
The announcement comes after Football Federation Australia (FFA) launched a new national Walking Football program in July, aimed at getting older Australians involved in sport in a fun and social environment.
Canberra Foot and Ankle Clinics’ director Kyle Dedini says he is excited to be part of a great community initiative like Walking Football.
“It’s great to see Capital Football promoting a fun, enjoyable, team-based exercise for the over 45 age group, as there is just not enough of these programs and competitions about,” Mr. Dedini said.
“We see a large improvement in the balance and proprioception in those who are physically active compared to those who are not, and this is particularly important in the ageing population.”

Introduced by Capital Football in 2018, Walking Football is a low impact, team-based exercise that aims to provide participants with physical and mental health benefits, while promoting social engagement with the community.
Walking Football matches are played on modified pitches, usually in a five-on-five format, with participants always needing to keep at least one foot on the ground.
Capital Football’s Head of Commercial Megan Salic is equally excited to welcome the Canberra Foot and Ankle Clinic on board.
“Capital Football prides itself on connecting with businesses and individuals within the Canberra community, so we’re especially excited to have the opportunity to partner with Kyle and his clinic,” she said.
As part of the partnership, the Canberra Foot and Ankle Clinic is offering a 15% discount to all participants of the Walking Football program, to encourage them to get involved, improve their physical and mental health and meet new people in a social environment.
Mr. Dedini’s clinic is located at the Ochre Health Medical Centre in Casey, ACT and, if any foot, ankle or knee injuries arise throughout the Walking Football season, they can be contacted on (02) 6163 4200 or via an online booking here.
The 2019/20 Walking Football season gets underway on Wednesday 16th October at the Hawker Football Centre.
