The Semi-Finals of the 2018 FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds in Canberra have now been confirmed following the draw at Deakin Stadium early on Friday.
Following Woden-Weston’s 4-2 win over Monaro Panthers on Thursday night at Woden Park the final four teams were confirmed and were drawn out of the pot.
League leaders and form side Canberra FC were drawn out first, and they quickly learnt they would face Belconnen United at Deakin Stadium. United will be wary of the hosts, having been beaten 5-0 by them just a couple of weeks ago at McKellar Park and featuring one of the goals of the season from Thomas James.
Gungahlin United, 6-0 victors over Gungahlin Juventus in their quarter-final were drawn as hosts of the second match, which left Woden-Weston as their opponents for the semi-final. The only meeting between the two teams this year was in Round 5 of the league, and finished in a 1-1 draw in an entertaining match at Woden Park.
