The Canberra Clasico was the pick of the draw in the Women’s Federation Cup Quarter Finals, the League Champions Canberra Croatia and Federation Cup holders and Grand Final winners, Canberra Olympic, paired in the last eight fixtures pulled out at Football House.
In what is set to be a monumental clash between two of the powerhouses of the women’s competition in the national capital, Croatia and Olympic will go toe-to-toe for a place in the semi-finals of the pre-eminent cup competition in Canberra.
Last season’s beaten finalists, Belconnen United, will aim to go one better this season, and begin their run with a tricky assignment away to Tuggeranong United. Meanwhile, a new look Gungahlin United, under Head Coach Andrew Woodman, will take on National Premier League (NPL) newcomers, ANU WFC.
The final tie of a Quarter Final line-up that promises much, sees West Canberra Wanderers heading to face the Canberra United Academy.
