Capital Football is seeking to appoint two (2) dynamic and strategic Directors to join our Board.
We are recruiting for two distinct Board positions, each aligned to a priority area of expertise that will strengthen the Board’s capability, support the organisation’s strategic priorities, and help shape the future of football across the ACT and surrounding regions.
As the governing body for football in the Capital region, we are committed to growing participation, strengthening high-performance pathways, and delivering strong governance to support our football community.
Current Opportunities
We are seeking one Director for each of the following areas of expertise:
1. Communications, Media & Brand Strategy
We’re looking for candidates with experience in:
- Communications strategy and planning.
- Media relations and public affairs.
- Brand management and marketing.
- Digital communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Reputation management and public-facing communications.
2. High Performance Sport
We’re looking for candidates with experience in:
- Elite or high-performance sporting environments.
- Athlete development and performance pathways.
- Coaching systems and performance frameworks.
- Talent identification and athlete development.
- High-performance governance or strategic planning.
General Board Experience
In addition to the specialist expertise sought for each role, all applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Strategic thinking and sound governance capability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- An understanding of risk, compliance and organisational sustainability.
- A commitment to integrity, diversity, inclusion and good governance.
Previous Board experience is desirable but not essential.
About the Role
As a Board Director, you will provide strategic leadership and governance, helping guide the long-term direction of Capital Football while supporting the continued growth and sustainability of the game.
This voluntary role involves:
- Attending approximately 10 Board meetings each year.
- Participating in Board sub-committees.
- Contributing to strategic planning and key organisational initiatives.
- Acting as an ambassador for football across the Capital region.
Appointment terms will be determined in accordance with the Capital Football Constitution and discussed during the recruitment process.
