Capital Football powerhouses Canberra Croatia and Tigers FC will meet in a titanic Australia Cup Qualifying Round 4 clash having been paired together in the Fourth Round draw that took place at Football House in Deakin today.
The National Premier League (NPL) giants will meet for a place in the Quarter Finals as one of three all-Premier League fixtures drawn in the last sixteen. Incredibly, all six winners of the Round 3 matches, featuring State and Community League clubs, will meet each other in Round 4 hoping to go deep into the tournament.
As well as Tigers FC trip to the 2022 NPL League Champions, O’Connor Knights, semi-finalists last term, will host Gungahlin United whilst newly promoted Tuggeranong United will take on seven-times Federation Cup winners Canberra Olympic, an early season litmus test for Mitch Stevens and his young squad.
Cup holder Monaro Panthers face Wagga City Wanderers yet again, the Panthers having defeated the Wanderers twice at this stage before, however this time the Wanderers will welcome Monaro to the Riverina.
The Round 3 draw also threw up some intriguing contests with former NPL club Belconnen United welcoming Queanbeyan City in what promises to be an enthralling clash, whilst the lowest ranked teams in the competition, Yarabi FC and Burns FC, have home clashes against Yoogali SC and Brindabella Blues, respectively.
