ACT WORLD CUP REFEREE FORUM

Capital Football are hosting an ‘ACT World Cup Referee Forum’ on Thursday 10 November, 6.30pm to 8pm in the Macarthur Room, Ainslie Football Club.

Current FIFA Assistant Referee’s Owen Goldrick and Lauren Hargrave will host the forum featuring special guests former FIFA Assistant Referees Ben Wilson and Allyson Flynn and former FIFA Referee Ben Williams.

They will be primarily sharing their insights and experiences from officiating at a FIFA World Cup.

  • Ben Williams attended 2014 FIFA Men”s World Cup, refereeing 2x group stage matches and a Round of 16 Match between Costa Rica and Greece, as well as being appointed 4th Official on the Argentina vs Belgium quarter-final.
  • Allyson Flynn has atended 2x FIFA Women’s World Cups, where she officiated on the Japan and England semi-final in 2015.
  • Ben Wilson attended the 2006 FIFA Men’s World Cup where he officiated as Assistant Referee on 2 group stage matches
We are excited to announce that Former FIFA Assistant Referee Gordon Dunster will be joining Ben Wilson, Ben Williams and Allyson Flynn for the ACT World Cup Referee Forum.
Gordon officiated throughout the 1992 Olympic Games, receiving the honour of Assistant Referee in the Olympic final. Significantly, it was in this year that Gordon was acknowledged for his excellence in soccer officiating by being appointed the FIFA Number One Linesman in the World. He also attended the 1994 World Cup where officiated 6 matches, including the Quarter-Final between Italy and Spain.
